Moqueca Brasil

Moqueca Brasil is a contemporary art group exhibition from artists born in Brazil, a country which breathes its art and culture while bringing them to life. This is a country whose cultural heritage can be discovered in numerous and most diverse forms.

Held during Tudo Brasil Festival 2012, Moqueca Brazil aims to introduce to its predominantly Bulgarian audience both young and established artists from Brazil in an attempt to reveal the cultural dynamics in their styles, approaches, techniques and art works united by the unique space of their origin.

The exhibition presents contemporary artists whose work is based on painting, photography, digital and computer art, and video art.

Edward Marily 

Greetings

I am responsible for this project called Multisensorial which allows me to present my point of view on humanity in many ways. So far I've been using new media art to place these creations. For instance a part of the whole is an imagery as Digital Art that keeps some aspects on traditional exhibition in the project.

These pieces were mostly done during 2007/1 and the exhibition cycles started in 2010/2, while there was a first test during school final works in 2009. I've been also using some of them for visual mapping onto the performances I've done over this years with this project as well.

Technically these pieces were mainly about using very few elements on Computer Art , just some experiments with colors and then some 2D layering. I started making this drawings based on emotions I listed after seeing some memory photo album. Them I had this software that allowed me to manipulate temperatures. I tried to focus on the extremes - hot and cold - as some other colors were sort of in between aesthetics-wise.

Right now I'm looking forward to make new material - I still love to draw ! and to experiment with all of those incredible gadgets ...

"La solitude est une condition necessaire de la liberté" Robert Wilson. 

Still Life is a project that talks about solitude, fear, love and finally isolation. The short stories created in this project shows a girl acting with plants, making it part of her. It is also a very feminine and very senstive project. The images create a kind of frightfully romantic, uncanny universe, all in black and white. Manoela always works on a vintage contemporary style, very much influenced by the experimental conceptual art and photography of the 60's.

It's very rewarding to participate in this exhibition which I had this great chance to expose my work in a gallery but also has the street here in Brazil because it was where I started ... the graffiti! My contribution to this art exposition was made in the sketchbook and others made in digital painting.
I am an illustrator and graffiti artist and am working as a freelancer in Sāo Paulo.

Reinaldo Freitas Resende

Vitória, Brazil, 1983.
Plastic Artist, Painter and Designer. His work is the relationship between control and chance, present in different positions and uses of gravity, or the management and record time, in this "peek" while the paint brand strategically folded the screen, or in both relationships, as in decision on stopping the process itself. Or in the deconstruction of shares in which to fulfill its function to reaffirm and strengthen the support planarity games paradoxes between planar space and projective space. Arises as a result of concerns over a long period of reflection on his own doing, as a dip in search of the best part of the soul of "Homo Faber". He has exhibited in the city of Vitoria. Exposure individual and collective. Work on cataloging the Collection of the City of Vitória.

Felipe Daniel 

São Paulo, São Paulo. 

Felipe is now launching his career as a graffiti artist. He said "Time was passing,  and day after day the style of my images was getting more and more individual... now I have my own style, but I think it will evolve even more over the time. I always have a sketchbook in my backpack, ready to jot down the ideas rushing through my head with full force. A rain drop on the window or a sentence heard on the street can inspire me to create a character and a scenery. I live in Sao Paulo and love urban art. "

Edward Marily  

Nova Viçosa, Bahia.

Edward Marini has a masters degree in "Communication". He is the creator of "Multisensorial" -- a multimedia project, recreating in an original way works of the artistic and cultural tradition of Brazil. He has professional experience in different areas of communication and arts -- he has created video, music and audiovisual art, and has also worked in an agency aimed at creating and promoting art and graphic design. His personal interests include science, art and technology. Currently he is working together with "divide or swim" on a web-documentation called "Change the world", and also in cooperation with the Art Group "Fora to eisho" on numerous other projects.

Едуард Марили е завършил висше образование „Комуникации” и е създател на „Мултисенсориал” – мултимедиен проект, пресъздаващ по оригинален начин произведения от артистично-културната традиция. Има професионален като комуникационен експерт, при работа с видео материали, в агенция за създаване и промотиране на изкуство и графичен дизайн, както и в областта на музикалното и аудиовизуалното изкуство. Неговите лични интереси включват наука, изкуство и технология. В момента работи над уеб – документацията „Променям света”, заедно с „дели или плувай”, и също кооперира с „Фора до еишо”, арт група в Бразилия, реализираща редица проекти.

César Pimentel

Vitória, Espírito Santo.

César graduated in "Communications" and became a professional photographer and artist. He has worked as an art director for advertising and PR agencies, as well as for one of the most renowned photo agencies in Brazil.

He uses the means of photography in a different way: he first recreates stories, creates scenarios, and only then he starts to shoot. His work is strongly influenced by poetry and the so-called "marginal Brazilian culture." 

César  is an author of the photographs to the book "Meninos espírito-santenses: a nova identidade capixaba" (The Boys of  Espírito Santo: the new identity of capixaba).

He had solo exhibitions in Rio de Janeiro, Vitoria, Sofia, Varna. Currently he is working on a multimedia project called Romaram that combines poetry, photography, music and video art.

Автор е на фотографиите към книгата „Meninos espírito-santenses: a nova identidade capixaba”.
В момента работи над проект, наречен Ромарам, мулитмедия обединяваща поезия, фотография, музика и видео арт.

Manoela Chiabai

Brasília, DF, Brazil, 1986.

Journalist, and photographer. Has worked as a copywriter in advertisement agencies and as a photographer for advertising campaigns. She was the oficial photographer for the Omelete Marginal magazine portraying the contemporary artists in Espírito Santo. Fashion photography has also been one of her activities. Her body of work consists in a very experimental and a kind of vintage contemporary style. Her main works are in Black and White until today. She has had two government comissioned solo exhibitions in Brazil one being “Blue”, all done in cyanotype blue print photography technique and the other being a documentary project “Dizem que o mundo será maravilhoso” about her greatgrandmother and greatgrandfather on their last days until their death. Today she is currently doing the Masters in Conceptual and Creative photography in Madrid, Spain, at Efti and is currently working on a new project, her first photography book called “Still Life”.

Fabricio Noronha 

Vitória, Espírito Santo 
Fabricio is a painter, writer and author of audio visual productions; vocalist of "Garganta Futura" (Throat of the future) and a founding member of "Koletivo Son Falkatur" (independent professional theater group).

His first book of poetry "Sangye com Foggo" (Blood in the fire) was published in 2007. He is currently active in the group "Eisho Fora" of Espirito Santo, raising funds from members and supporters for the realisation of different cultural projects in Brazil.

Tadeu Bianconi 

Vitória, Espírito Santo 

Photographer and professor  of phtography.

Tadeu Bianconi was 22, a student in journalism when he met Ekehard Grotte -- a German photographer, inspired by the spirit of the State of Bahia -- who became his mentor and teacher. He followed Grotte everywhere on his trips throughout Brazil, armed with his Minolta. With the time he developed a very unique artistic vision.

His progress did not remain unnoticed  -- soon he was invited by Grotte to be his assistant in Germany and Tadeu could not refuse this once in a lifetime proposal. Today Mr. Bianconi is one of the biggest names in photography in Brazil and South America.

Gabriel Lordêllo

Photographer 

Gabriel got acquainted for the first time with the photographic art in his father's house, who used to make applications of photographs on the tiles in the bathroom. Gabriel was amazed and always curious about photography -- about the machines, the magnifying glass, all the chemicals and the photographic paper, which he was allowed only to look at but not touch until he reached the age of 15, when he was given his first camera.

Gabriel says "I started shooting in 1997 when I was 20 and had just been accepted in the Faculty of Journalism. In 1999 I began to work professionally and to do some freelance photography."

В него винаги е било будно любопитството към фотографията, към машините, които не му е било разрешено да пипа, към лупата, химическата и фотографската хартия, които е можел само да гледа, докато не са му подарили неговата първа камера на 15 години.

Започнах да снимам още на 20 години, когато влязох в института по журналистика през 1997. През 1999 започнах да снимам професионално е да работя на свободна практика.

Ерли Виера

Ерли Виера (Витория 1977). Писател, режисьор на късометражни филми и университетски професор.

 Автор е на късометражните филми Макабея (16 мм, реализиран съвместно с Виржиния Жорже и Лизандре Нунес), На Елиза (35 мм, 2004), Гриналда (Мини DV, 2006), Аз, който дори не зная френски (Мини DV, 2008) и Авенка (35 мм, 2009). Също така ръководи редица студия за аудиовизуално изкуство, заедно с младежи от периферията на Гранде Витория.

 Публикува Контрапункт, Права, Равнина (Поезия, 1999), E-се (разкази, 2008). Съорганизира antologia Instantâneo - Мигновена Антология, публикувана от Секретариата по култура на провинция Еспирто Санто през 2005 г., обединяваща 38 съвременни писатели. В момента завършва книгата си Родапес.

 Професор е в Департамента по социална комуникация в Уфес. Притежава магистърска степен „Социална Комуникации” от Федералния университет Уфес.
